Anyway, we’re coming up on the one year anniversary of the program, and Disney’s issues a press release about the pledges they’ve gotten so far and what they plan to do going forward.

They also just released a new Friends For Change group picture.

There’s no Miley, no Emily, and no Selena. But they did make sure to include the Disney XD kids. WTF?

Nearly 2 Million Promises from Kids to Help the Planet;
2 Million Dollars Donated by Disney to Environmental Charities

May 26, 2010 — Burbank, Calif. — What a difference a year can make, for the planet and for kids! Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green is celebrating its one-year anniversary with the premiere of all-new content. Starting May 30, new on-air messages will begin airing on Disney Channel and Disney XD. They feature nearly 40 Disney stars, including the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, as well as young environmental heroes. The spots will also be featured on Radio Disney and the recently redesigned program website, www.Disney.com/projectgreen.

A Program with Purpose
The aim of this ambitious movement is to empower children to take charge when it comes to the environment, whether it’s their own piece of the planet or a big picture approach.

"With Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green, kids are discovering that helping the planet is easy and fun when they work together and have the right tools,"� said Jennifer Anopolsky, senior vice president, Corporate Responsibility, The Walt Disney Company. "In just one year, participation has exceeded our wildest expectations, and we’re building on that momentum by extending Friends for Change to kids in other parts of the world and enhancing the program with fresh new content, local community events, and more grant money that will empower kids with even more ways to get involved."�

Twelve months after the launch of Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green, kids have made nearly two million personal promises to change their daily routines, from unplugging electrical devices when not in use to taking shorter showers.

Kids can also go global with their votes on where to allocate Disney grant money. As a result, one million dollars in grants from Disney are now supporting 25 critical environmental projects around the world.

With the new videos and web content debuting May 30, young people will learn even more ways to recycle, save water, help habitats and reduce energy consumption. They will also have the opportunity to again vote on how another $1 million in grants will support worthy environmental causes throughout the year.

Kids Making a Difference
Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green is setting the pace for environmental initiative. With nearly two million promises, kids have pledged to:

"¢Cut 70,000 tons of carbon emissions annually

"¢Reduce/recycle 2.4 million pounds of trash annually

"¢Save 120 million gallons of water per month

Kids are also learning about the power of their vote. Thanks to their input, Disney has donated more than one million dollars to 25 environmental projects in 15 countries, including:

"¢$50,000 to the National Resource Council to help fund a forest restoration project in Costa Rica.

"¢$25,000 to the African Wildlife Foundation to help protect elephant habitats in Zambia.

Kids can turn their own local environmental project into a reality. Disney’s Friends for Change grants, in collaboration with Youth Service America, provide seed money to help get them started. The next call for grant applications opens June 7. To date, these grants have positively influenced nearly 8,000 kids. Last week I was fortunate enough to snag stand by tickets for last Friday’s live studio filming for The Suite Life on Deck. I had heard that On Deck was the hardest DC show to get into (not counting Hannah, ’cause that one’s impossible) so I was ecstatic just to have the opportunity!

At the Wizards filming I learned the importance of getting there early. And for On Deck I was determined to get there as early as possible. Me and my Mom got there at one, and we where the first ones there! I was shocked. As it turned out, only five stand by people showed up, and they actually had room for about 15 at last weeks show.

The episode I saw filmed was called “The Ghost and Mr. Martin” and it is part of season three. In this episode, the ship is docked in New Orleans and the cast is dressed in 1800s period costumes for a ball on the deck. London and Bailey are attempting to help Mr. Moseby overcome his fear of preforming in public. Meanwhile, Zach, Cody, and Woody are attempting to find and communicate with the ghost Captain that’s haunting Zach.

The SLOD set is unlike any other I’ve seen. The ship’s sky-deck set filled the entire stage in front of our audience area. All other scenes on other sets where pre-filmed and shown to us on the monitors. Combined with the other supplemental sets, On Deck probably has the largest set of any DC Show.

As a result, we only had two scenes to film, but they where nine and ten page scenes! So there where many takes and resets back to back. There where a variety of other supplemental shots for special effects (as I mentioned before, there is a ghost), and some other special effects involving Woody. From start to finish, it took four and a half hours! By the end it was starting to get a little crazy on set!

At 9:25, they wrapped the last supplemental shots and practically threw us all out! Apparently union rules required them to have the audience physically outside the building by 9:30. I tell ya, SAG has a lot weird rules! LOL. Obviously, we didn’t have time for an autograph session, which was a disappointment. I have met Debby before, but I really did want to meet Phill and Brenda, plus ask the cast and crew if they want to do another season or if they’re happy if season three is the end (which it probably will be). Because we wouldn’t have time to get autographs, they gave us these presigned script covers:

I would have loved to meet everyone, but I’m not complaining. I feel very blessed to have been able to go and see the show filmed. I mean, I got to see Debby dance around and lip-sync to Justin Beiber in a period dress! I watched as Brenda and Debby where literally eating the set between takes! And I learned why the director doesn’t take Matthew Timmons (Woody) seriously – “Because you’re covered in gelatin!”

I learned a couple spoilers as well (highlight to read) => Doc Shaw’s character Marcus Little was written off the show. Also, Cody and Bailey break up. <= Unfortunately, both hose things happened in episodes prior to the one I saw, so they’re only refrenced and that’s all I know about them. Oh, and Debby’s favorite costume was her Naomi Wyoming pop-star outfit, which I also thoroughly enjoyed.

March is gonna be a big month for DC Fans, starting with a special Suite Life on Deck.

“Once Upon a Suite Life” - During Ms. Tutweiler’s history lesson, Zack, Cody and London fall asleep and dream of themselves in classic fairy tales. London dreams that she is the evil witch trying to poison Snow White (Bailey), so she can be the fairest in the land; Cody imagines he and Zack are Hansel and Gretel as they get lost in the forest and find a candy cottage and Ms. Tutweiler, a witch; and Zack dreams of Jack and the Beanstalk, in which he trades the family cow for magic beans, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Then March 14th is a huge day, with the previously announced Hannah Montana S3 finale, and the Premiere of Sonny with a Chance Season two

“Walk A Mile In My Pants” - Sonny rallies everyone together for a “Walk-A-Thon For Books” and gets Tawni to donate her “Tawni Hart’s Extreme Skinny Jeans” for all of the participants to wear. Eventually everyone starts dropping out as a result of SPS – Skinny Pants Syndrome, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

It will be followed by a new JONAS, which is surprising. I thought they already used up all the S1 episodes. And there’s no way they could be done with a S2 episode already.

“Exam Jam” - As the JONAS World Concert Tour draws closer, Joe and Stella come to terms with being apart from one another over the summer. Meanwhile Kevin and Joe devise a plan to help Nick ace his geometry test after their dad threatens not to send the brothers on tour unless they pass all their school exams, in “JONAS,” premiering SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

After that epic weekend, we get a new Wizards of Waverly Place.

“Detention Election” - Justin’s chances at becoming Student Body President are put in jeopardy after someone wallpapers Principal Laritate’s office with posters from Justin’s campaign and he is accused of masterminding the prank. Meanwhile, Alex befriends Stevie, a rebellious new girl in school, and Jerry, Max and Harper get stuck on a Ferris wheel during their trip to Coney Island in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And a new On Deck. This series must be nearing the end of the season, although I haven’t checked exactly how many more remain.

“Marriage 101″ - Ms. Tutweiler assigns her students a project where they must act like married couples and manage a household. Cody and Bailey are the quintessential perfect couple, and Zack and London make a surprisingly good couple too. When Woody and Addison have a child - Marcus - they learn how difficult adult life can be, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And then we’ll wrap up the month with two more new Sonny with a Chance episodes.

“Sonny Get Your Goat” - When Sonny and Tawni learn the “Check It Out Girls” sketch is popular in Glendovia, Marshall arranges for an exchange program, not realizing that the Glendovians think the girls are real check-out girls and want them to be cashiers for a store’s grand opening. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady wear mustaches to fit in with their Glendovian exchange student, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And

“Gassie Passes” - When the cast of “So Random!” finds out they are starring in a new movie based on their “Gassie” sketches, Demi showers the pup with affection by giving him too many dog treats. When Gassie passes out, the cast fears the worst, only to discover that Sonny’s treats caused Gassie to fall ill. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady receive money from a secret investor, who turns out to be Dakota Condor, to mass produce the Gassie lunch boxes that Zora invented, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 28 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Of course, Jennifer Stone’s new movie “Harriet the Spy: The Blog Wars” also premieres this month on the 26th. But no one cares about that.

ALEX CASTS A SPELL ON HERSELF TO BECOME A POSITIVE PERSON IN A NEW EPISODE OF “WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE,” FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Positive Alex” - Alex has a crush on George, the school’s band leader, but is unable to get his attention because he’s turned off by her sour attitude and unenergetic cheers at the school basketball games. Determined to get George to ask her to the school dance, she casts a spell on herself to become a positive person, but Alex’s newfound optimism turns out to be too much when she starts cheering for the opposing team. Meanwhile, Justin has joined the basketball team and is trying to get a big senior moment captured on video, in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Guest starring is Austin Butler (“Zeke and Luther”) as George.

Ahh, so this is the episode with Austin Butler. And could it be, we actually get to see Cheerleader Alex? Heck yeah!

LONDON OFFERS HER FRIENDS ONE MILLION DOLLARS TO INVENT SOMETHING IN A NEW EPISODE OF “THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK,” PREMIERING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“London’s Apprentice” - When London’s father gives her one million dollars to find an invention to market, she enlists her friends to come up with a unique invention and offers them the cash as a prize. At first everyone comes up with their own ideas, but then they combine their resources, wreaking havoc on the ship with their multifunctional robot, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

A million dollar robot? Okay… I’m not sure I’m feeling this one.

Of course, we already know that Starstruck is airing on February 14th.

And Radio Disney’s Jake Whetter says that the new season of Sonny with a Chance “airs right before “Starstruck” premieres on February 14th. ” via Twitter. But if that is accurate, it seems strange that Disney wouldn’t mention it among all these other press releases. Maybe it will be Spring afterall…

It’s official! Production has started on Season 3 of The Suite Life on Deck.

DISNEY CHANNEL’S HIT SERIES “THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK”

Production has begun in Hollywood on Disney Channel’s hit series “The Suite Life on Deck,” a comedy that delivered record ratings in its first two seasons, ranking as TV’s #1 series among Kids 6-11 and, amidst all scripted TV series, in the top two spots among Tweens 9-14 for 2009 and 2008.

A spin-off of the hugely popular “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” the series follows identical twins Zack and Cody Martin, hotel heiress London Tipton, southern belle and Cody’s girlfriend Bailey Pickett and former singing teen sensation Marcus Little on a semester at sea aboard the luxurious SS Tipton. More often than not, the group’s antics make the dutiful cruise ship’s hotel manager, Mr. Moseby, want to walk the plank.

“The Suite Life on Deck” stars Dylan Sprouse as Zack Martin, Cole Sprouse as Cody Martin, Brenda Song as London Tipton, Debby Ryan as Bailey Pickett, Doc Shaw as Marcus Little and Phill Lewis as Mr. Moseby. Recurring cast members are Erin Cardillo as Ms. Tutweiller, Matthew Timmons as Woody and Windell Middlebrooks as Kirby.

Alright, I’d admit that press release doesn’t tell us much that we didn’t already know, but at least we know they’re back to work now.

And now for a trip into the Bermuda Triangle. Scary!

Oh, so that’s why they call them Bermuda shorts.

Anyway, how could no one notice this?

Like there’s a magical line that warps reality out in the ocean? LOL

Okay, maybe there is.

But at least Cody can pull off his new look.

And Bailey seems intrigued.

But the important thing is that the boys came together, before they where magically transported back to before any of it happened.

Which made the whole thing rather pointless.

… It’s a good thing Debby Ryan’s cute.

“Crossing Jordin” has to be one of my favorite season two Suite Life On Deck episodes.

Baily’s whole Guess, no you’ll never get it, Guess! part was hilarious.

As was Marcus’s reaction to the news.

I recently took a liking to Jordin Sparks when I heard a song of hers for the first time at, of all places, Downtown Disney! So it was exciting to have her pop up on a disney show mere months later.

Also in this episode, London meets her biggest fan. …ooookay.

Jordin’s entire concert consisted of half of her single. WTH?

The boys decided to write Jordin a new song.

Zack quickly realized he needs Marcus’s help.

Disney Channel invites viewers to create their own New Year’s Eve programming event by voting for their favorite episodes, moments, music videos and more in online polls at DisneyChannel.com. Beginning FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, three new polls will roll out each Friday inviting viewers to vote in a total of 18 categories, including Favorite Episodes and Favorite Guest Star. Fans can also vote for their Top 10 favorite music videos of 2009, and the songs will air on Radio Disney. Voting will determine the New Year’s Eve programming lineup, entitled “New Year’s Star Showdown,” airing THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31 (6:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Throughout the night, Disney Channel will air sneak peeks of upcoming Disney Channel and Disney XD series and original movies including the much-anticipated “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam.”

Last year nearly 33.7 million online votes were cast during the “Totally New Year” programming event. This year, every time one of the online polls is completed, users will unlock that week’s digital prize and reveal a piece of the mystery puzzle. Prizes include a 2010 printable calendar, New Year’s Eve party decorations and games. Fans can also test their Disney Channel knowledge in new online trivia games every week.

During the “New Year’s Eve Star Showdown” programming lineup, favorite Disney Channel stars will compete in five Game Show challenges: “So Random,” “Last Star Standing,” “Sound Off,” “Quick Draw” and the “New Years Eve Countdown Game.”
